The Hepworth Wakefield – Yorkshire’s new art gallery - has appointed Lindley Heritage to manage all of the catering services and facilities at the £35 million venue which opened its doors earlier this year.

The £1.8 million, five-year catering agreement is the first contract to be awarded to The Lindley Group's newly created division.

The caterer will be responsible for servicing the 80-cover restaurant/café at The Hepworth Wakefield, as well as providing catering for hospitality and special events. The specialist division will also join forces with sister company, Heathcotes Outside to develop the venue's banqueting business.

Adam Elliott, chief executive officer of The Lindley Group, said:  "The food offer Lindley Heritage will deliver is a simple one that concentrates on delivering high-quality, freshly-prepared food using local produce. There will be a delicious range of seasonal hot food that will be delivered to the table, as well as a great range of food on display on the main counter."

Simon Wallis, gallery director at the Hepworth Wakefield, added: "Lindley Heritage brought a fresh approach to the table and are very attuned to our requirements.  Their focus on local provenance and providing wholesome, good value food, together with their open and flexible approach ticked all of the boxes and we're delighted that they are joining us on this voyage of discovery."
