Little Chef gets a welcome break in Oxford

15th April 2010, 7:36am

Motorway services operator Welcome Break has acquired the lease of a former Little Chef at Oxford Peartree on the A34/A40/A44 Peartree Interchange.

It is to redevelop the site and open a new-look mini amenity building, featuring a Waitrose food shop, Starbucks and KFC.

The redeveloped site is set to open on Monday 5th July 2010.

The existing staff will be retained and an additional 20 staff will be employed.

Welcome Break chief executive Rod McKie said: "This is a new concept for the company and one that we believe will be welcomed by the travelling public. We will evaluate the success of the site to ascertain whether there is potential for Welcome Break to develop more A road sites with motorway characteristics."
