Lyons Seafoods appoints technical director

Lyons Seafoods has appointed Steve Vardy as technical director to drive the business forward from a technical, sustainable and environmental perspective.

Vardy, who joins Lyons Seafoods from Bowes of Norfolk, where he was director of technical services, will sit on the board and report into managing director, Charles Dawson.

Dawson said: "This new role has been created to reflect the growing importance of technical and sustainable issues and will help maintain our position in the UK as leaders in sustainable seafood.  Steve brings a wealth of technical experience and will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all our strategic goals and future challenges are met."

Vardy added: "It is a very exciting time to join Lyons Seafoods.  The company has a unique sustainability and ethical sourcing agenda as well as an excellent track record in bringing the highest standards of food safety and quality to the market.  I look forward to working with our customers and the team at Lyons to continue to deliver seafood of exceptional quality."
