Additionally, Meiko will show the company's range of warewashing systems, a range of dewatering units for stand-alone kitchen installations or in-vessel composting, and the new Microvac vacuum food waste removal system.
Throughout the exhibition, Meiko will highlight the many, wide and varied energy-saving features of its machines, emphasising reduced use of detergents, lower water consumption, optimum water heat maintenance, and reduced power usage.
The energy-saving features are rife throughout the warewashing systems, and none more so than on the EcoStar models. All are fitted with an Eco Filter facility, which, quite simply, keeps the wash water cleaner, reduces detergent consumption, and reduces the power required to maintain wash tank temperatures – all determined to bring down costs. Furthermore, the insulation and double skin, also aid heat retention inside the EcoStar dishwashers, whilst ensuring outer surface temperatures remain cool to the touch and kitchens don't become steamed up with hot air.
Another example of Meiko's green warewashers, is the Meiko 2 series featuring the 'Activ Plus' wash water filtration system, which actively removes small particles from the wash water, and reduces detergent and water consumption. Specifically, the FV 40.2 front loading model, suitable for all washing needs, boasts the Activ Plus feature plus the leak detection 'Aqua-Stop-System', together with a soft-start glass safe feature and a self cleaning cycle.
Ultimately, when it comes to warewashing, Meiko has a model to suit, whatever the size of the operation, from the largest of food production operations, through to the smallest of outlets specialising in hot beverages only – the Meiko stand has the spectrum covered.
New, and for the first time showing on a Meiko stand is the ultimate in sustainable food recycling/disposal system – Microvac. Swedish manufactured, Microvac is designed for the handling, transporting and storage of food waste, ideal for restaurants, hotels, hospitals, schools, universities and contract catering facilities.
The technical bit – the Microvac system grinds and mixes waste food together with a measured amount of water, which then converts to liquid mass for ease of extraction. The liquid mass is then transported by medium vacuum at a speed in the region of 25mt/second to a remotely sited storage tank. During the storage period, which can be up to 10 weeks, most of the water from the food waste is separated by a filtering screen and directed from the tank into the waste water system.
Whilst Microvac is being launched at Hotelympia, so efficient and effective is the system, that already Meiko has installed a system within a leading
The Meiko stand is all about saving energy and costs without lowering standards of warewashing and food disposal operations. Statistics and information will be readily available and staff will be on hand to discuss ways of reducing costs and energy. In the meantime, information and more detail can be accessed at www.meiko-uk.co.uk, alternatively call the company direct on 01753 215120.
