Michel Roux wins legal battle

4th June 2009, 12:44pm

A property developer who claimed he was kept awake at night by noisy heating pipes and the air conditioning unit during his stay at the cottage next to Michel Roux's renowned Waterside Inn in Bray, Berkshire, has had his case thrown out of court.

According to The Telegraph, Kevin Andrews and his wife Camilla, were seeking a £500 refund and £200 damages.

District judge Trent dismissed the claim however, finding that Mr Andrews had received "an excess of good services". He said that controlling the air condition and central heating was not "rocket science".

Roux described the case as a "shame". He said: "I'm a three star Michelin chef, I've got a few rooms and they are among the best in the UK."

"If we commit something wrong or if there is a mistake made somewhere we are the first to put it right but in this case there was nothing wrong."
