A new chief executive officer of deSter, a member of gategroup and a leader in food presentation concepts and onboard service equipment for the travel industry, has been appointed with immediate effect.

Blaine J. Blanchard will be taking on long-term strategic and day-to-day management responsibility for the company's worldwide commercial operations and manufacturing facilities in Belgium and Thailand. His focus will also be to further develop deSter's global presence and manage the business to meet future market needs.

Prior to this, Blanchard has worked in various fields including BlueCross BlueShield Association, Roche Vitamins & Fine Chemicals / DSM and Texaco Inc.

gategroup chief executive officer Guy Dubois said: "deSter's business model rests on the integration of research and development, in-house production, global sourcing and distribution in a supply-chain approach.

"With his exceptionally strong background in strategic sourcing and procurement, we are fortunate to attract a candidate of Blaine's caliber to lead the company forward."
