Caterer Harbour & Jones has appointed Gary McKechnie as the new director of food, moving up from his previous position as chef for hospitality.

Working for the Compass Group from 1990, McKechnie rose from head chef at the London Stock Exchange to executive chef for the Restaurant Associates at The Royal Bank of Scotland, overseeing the catering for over 3000 employees.

As director of food at Harbour & Jones, McKechnie's responsibilities will include developing strategies to implement Harbour & Jones' food style whilst continuing to increase standards and source ethical, sustainable and seasonal British produce. Clients of Harbour & Jones include The Royal Society, RADA and St Paul's Cathedral.

Patrick Harbour, co-founder of Harbour & Jones commented: "We promoted Gary after one year of working at Harbour & Jones.
