New menu solution for schools launched

2nd October 2008, 10:55am

Nestlé Professional has launched its Maggi Menu Solutions ‘Education Planning Tool’, a DVD-ROM specially designed to help school caterers facilitate quick and efficient menu planning inline with forthcoming legislation.

Comprising a wide range of recipes, nutritional information and helpful hints and tips to help school caterers through the menu planning process, the DVD-ROM can easily work alongside CRISp, nutmeg, Saffron Nutrition and other menu planning software.

Every Maggi recipe has been developed to meet the School Food Trust's food-based standards and is supported with nutritional data for each of the 14 nutrients in the nutrient-based standards, which will become law in September 2008 for primary schools (and September 2009 for secondary schools).

Martin Lines, Marketing Director, Nestlé Professional: "With so many legislative changes in the Education Sector, the challenges of meeting budgets, keeping children happy with the menu choices – and managing the sometimes negative perceptions of school meals - we wanted to do something to help those directly involved in the provision of the service."

Caterers simply insert the DVD-ROM into the computer disk drive to access useful information such as:

• Recipes
• Nutritional Info at a Glance
• The Maggi Guide to Vegetables
• Maggi Products

If you would like a copy of the Maggi Menu Solutions DVD-ROM, contact Nestlé Professional Tel: 0800 745845.
