Nominations open for Annual World Food Awards 2010

Nominations are now open for The World Food Awards 2010 (WFA) which will be taking place on 23rd October.

Here are the categories:

Best New Product
Best Packaging
Best Wholesaler
Best Marketing Campaign
Best Catering Supplier
Best Independent Retailer
Best National Retailer
Restaurant of the Year
Entrepreneur of the Year
Lifetime Achievement Award

The judging panel will comprise of top chefs including Ainsley Harriott and Anjum Anand, David Moore of the BBC's, The Restaurant and Tony Matharu, managing director of Grange Hotels.

This year's 'Restaurant of the Year' category will be judged exclusively by AA inspectors.

Harry Dulai, of Surya said: "The calibre of last year winners is a reflection of the fact world food is now a thriving industry that has long crossed over into mainstream markets. We are excited about the prospect of making this year's event even bigger and better."


The closing date for entries is Friday 30th July, 2010.

The World Food Awards 2010 is presented in association with Sony Entertainment Television Asia and food suppliers Surya and will be broadcast by Sony Entertainment Television Asia in over 100 countries.

The World Foods Association represents the interests of UK companies operating in the ethnic foodservice markets, covering Asian, Oriental, Afro-Caribbean, East-European, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean products.
