AVF Marketing and ParentPay have joined forces to create a digital platform for school meal caterers to increase meal numbers by combining the two websites.

The website will be targeted at parents so they can pay online and obtain information about primary school meals. Parents can access a wide range of other information from how local authorities are promoting healthy eating to what is on the menu.

There is also information for pupils and teachers, the pupil section has a funfair of educational games that can link to the National Curriculum and the lesson plans link the funfair of games to Key Stages 1 and 2 of the National Curriculum.

Parents will be directed to the relevant authority's page at www.myschoollunch.co.uk and then access the ParentPay application. ParentPay is used by hundreds of thousands of parents every month to make payments to school.

Arnold Fewell, managing director of AVF Marketing, said: "I am very excited by this development as there are a wide range of new products that we will develop with ParentPay to help our clients increase Primary School meal numbers. Marketing via online media is the future and I know this link up will bring many other benefits to school caterers and headteachers, such as saving on administration time. The website is already a huge success and there will soon be over 30 local authority My School Lunch sites."

Clint Wilson, chief executive officer of ParentPay, added: This is just the beginning and we will continue to develop new products and strategies that enhance school caterers' businesses and help deliver real benefits to schools, parents and pupils. Two lead authorities will be test marketing new developments over the coming months with the first major new product launches planned for later in the academic year."
