The pasta meals company received the Small Business of the Year Award after collecting the Chilled Ready Meals and Prepared Foods award at a prestigious ceremony held at The Marriott hotel in London.
Organised by Food Manufacture magazine, the awards recognise the best of the UK's food manufacturing industry. Finalists from all categories competed for the two overall awards of the night and Pasta King scooped the Small Business of the Year Award.
Companies were judged according to their standards in areas such as category management, marketing and new product development, supply chain, quality assurance, process innovation and human resource development.
Operations Director at Pasta King, Paul Haigney, commented: "Our company's ethos has always been to maintain the highest standards of product quality and to make Pasta King's meals healthy, tasty and nutritionally well balanced. Winning the award for the category for which we were shortlisted was fantastic as it means we are doing our work well. But receiving Business of the Year Award is an outstanding achievement and incredibly rewarding for the Pasta King team. This is an extra incentive to keep investing in our products and in our customers."
2007 has been a particularly successful year for Pasta King.
The company has also been nominated as a finalist for the national Excellence in Food & Drink Awards and the South Devon Business Excellence Awards.
The outcome will be announced later this month at the two awards ceremonies in London and Paignton respectively.
