The aim of the day was to show people what food at the Trust is like and to underline the Trust's commitment to healthy and nutritious hospital food, served in the right way.
There was a meal trolley at the event from which members of the public could taste the food that inpatients receive at the Trust.
In addition, the Trust's Diatetics Department hosted a display about what they do and the importance of proper nutrition. There was also a display from apetito, the providers of food at the Trust.
Madeline Jephcott, deputy director of nursing and governance at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust said: "Nutrition is as important for the recovery of our patients as taking their medication. Patients should be given the right food, they should be able to eat in a relaxed environment and they should be able to rest properly afterwards."
