Prestige Scotland provides top end dining services at Open Championship event

7th July 2011, 7:48am

Events catering company Prestige Scotland is taking a team of 65 of its staff south of the border to provide the top end dining at this month's Open Championship at Royal St George's in Kent.

This move has come about after successfully delivering this service at last year's Open at St Andrews.

Prestige Scotland will take 30 managers and 35 chefs for the event, which runs from July 10 to 17. When The Open is finished, 18 managers and key chefs move straight to The Senior Open at Walton Heath in Surrey. The tournament, part of the European Senior Tour, runs from July 21 to 24.

The Prestige Scotland team will serve 25,000 meals at The Open in the R&A complex, serving players and their families, the media, referees and officials, including a 500 cover service restaurant and the Trophy Room, which is the VIP dining area for guests of the R&A.

At The Senior Open at Walton Heath, the team will provide 200 hospitality covers a day, running a table service bistro restuarant as well as all public catering and on-site bars.

Austin Tilsley, Prestige Scotland regional director, said: "This demonstrates the ability of my team in Scotland to deliver high quality events right across the UK and our commitment to travel throughout Britain to provide the service our clients demand. We have a fantastic working relationship with The R&A and the European Tour and I am delighted that we are able to provide the catering for their events, even though they are both in England this year."
