Restaurant goers seek for healthy menu options

29th February 2008, 11:55am

A massive 83% of Northern restaurant goers are looking for more healthy options on their menus, and sees nutrition as a big player in deciding which dishes they choose, according to a recent survey.

Northern Restaurant & Bar (who conducted the survey), the only Northern exhibition for the hospitality trade, is presenting a seminar entitled 'How healthy is your menu?' which will offer help on protecting a restaurant's income, and will provide  advice on how to make sure a menu is offered which appeals to the growing number of health conscious consumers.

The seminar will also explain what constitutes a healthy choice, and how to improve the nutritional quality of menus by discovering which foods and drinks have a positive effect on health and wellbeing.

This seminar is part of the Bar's Networking Forum which runs over two days and provides a range of business led sessions ranging from regional association meetings to hot topics for the northern hospitality industry.

Other topics include a legislation update, how to market a restaurant or bar in the on-line arena, social and corporate responsibility, a modern approach to overcoming staffing issues in the industry, and how to build a loyal and local customer base.

All talks are given by experts in the industry, and are free of charge. They will run from 7-8 April at Manchester Central.
