All schools and pupils will now be able to log on to a link on Manchester City Council's website, which will take them straight to the website full of facts and figures about keeping hydrated.
The site promotes the health benefits of drinking water and is part of the award-winning My School Lunch website. It was created to educate primary School children about how water affects their bodies. On the site visitors will find activity sheets, teaching resources and lots of information about water as well as stories, a quiz and FAQs.
Councillor Bernard Priest, Manchester City Council's executive member for finance and human resources, said: "It's so important that you drink five to six glasses of water every day to avoid getting dehydrated.
"We encourage children to have at least one glass of water at lunchtime with their school meal, which is freely available for them to help themselves, and will help them concentrate better in the afternoon lessons. We hope this website will improve the health of children in Manchester."
