Sodexo Prestige received an award for its heritage business and Sodexo Scotland for its contract at the Scottish Government.
Sodexo is one of 30 companies to receive an award at the new Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards which were held at St Paul's Cathedral earlier this month. Actor and author, Bill Oddie hosted the new awards which in addition to the Good Egg Awards now includes The Good Chicken Award and The Supermarket Awards.
Each year Sodexo Prestige uses around 20,000 free range (shell) eggs across its heritage business plus uses free range liquid eggs. Chris John, managing director for Sodexo Prestige commented: "We take pride in our home baking at these venues as this is a key part of our desire to deliver the very best products and standards for our customers and clients."
Sodexo also moved to using free range eggs last year at the Scottish Government.
Graham Box, managing director for Sodexo Scotland, explained: "For two years before switching we were offering free ranges eggs on a 'by request' basis only. We reviewed the situation and chose to make all eggs free range.
"In addition to the use of fresh eggs and by working closely with our nominated supply base, we also sourced free range liquid egg, and hard boiled eggs, thus ensuring that our food offer is not compromised in anyway whatsoever."
