Sodexo Prestige has signed a deal worth around £38 million with premiership giant Newcastle United Football Club.

As part of a five-year deal, Sodexo will provide public catering for up to 52,000 fans and manage the single largest conference and banqueting facility in the North East.

This Christmas, the number of guests expected to celebrate the event at St. James' Park will reach 20,000. Sodexo will employ over 1,100 employees at the club's catering, events and sales departments.

Simon Bailey, director of stadia and events, Sodexo Prestige, said: "Newcastle United already has an award-winning reputation for its catering and conference and banqueting operations, and that will be further enhanced by our relationship with Sodexo Prestige."
