Kate Steadman, government relations manager, Sodexo
In her new role, Steadman will be working with Sodexo's prisons business, Kalyx, and will support government relations director Tony Cooke, who was recruited to his role in 2009.
Steadman and Cooke will join forces to develop specific corporate projects. Cooke said: "Kate brings a wealth of experience from the heart of British politics and will be a invaluable asset in helping Sodexo to align its services in the public sector more closely to governments policy aspirations."
Steadman has worked "at the crux of British politics and criminal justice policy" for the last five years, advising and working with shadow cabinet ministers – now cabinet ministers – including three Shadow Secretaries of State for Justice, Junior ministers, and other MP's and Peers from all political parties.
Most recently, Steadman was the adviser on prisons and probation to the Shadow Prisons Minister and the Shadow Secretary of State for Justice and also assisted the Shadow Attorney General with policy development.
In addition, from February 2006, Steadman's central task was to compose fresh new conservative party policy on prison and probation under David Cameron's new party leadership.
Steadman said: "I am delighted to join the team and hope that my insights into the heart of the government will enable me to help strengthen Sodexo's position in what is an exciting time for outsourcing companies."
