Space Catering Equipment launches furniture division for hospitality sector

15th November 2010, 9:07am

Space Catering Equipment has launched a new division offering contract furniture to operators across the catering and leisure industry.

Space Furniture brings a range of furniture directly imported from European manufacturers, as well as making "bespoke" items to suit any outlet style.

Space can create new furnishings for high street cafes and workplace eateries through to fine dining establishments and boutique hotels.

Managing director Mike Mellor said: "Having worked for over a decade on outstanding catering solutions for clients across the hospitality arena, we were increasingly being asked to furnish the spaces we had created."

"More and more customers wanted the finished article – right down to the chairs and tables their customers sit at – and, knowing our credentials, looked to us to provide that solution. We knew that our business model would allow us to work to a more competitive margin, something else we thought our customers would value."

"So we created a new division especially to do that and brought in Tim Wickens, a name many in the industry will know, to head it up.  Tim's knowledge and operational experience combined with our interior design flair, technical capability and service mean we can now offer customers everything they need to create aesthetically pleasing environments that really work."

Wickens, who has previously worked at hospitality operations including Cheltenham Racecourse, Town Hall and Pump Rooms, added: "The launch of Space Furniture means Space can deliver inspired interiors to suit any kind of hospitality environment. We've got the know-how, the sourcing and the manufacturing capability to provide any kind of furniture style, from contemporary to traditional, with polishing, finishing and fabric options on top.

"Get in touch whether you're looking for something specific or a complete furnishing scheme for your outlet – we're happy to talk to you about interiors that look the part, as well as advise on all aspects of functional leisure interiors and individual product selection."
