THESE MEATBALLS ARE MOORISH

2nd October 2007, 10:16am

Pork, beef and lamb have all been used by the innovative new product development team at Snowbird foods, which has unveiled two exciting new recipes for meatballs.

Pork and beef are combined with onion, garlic, thyme, black pepper and salt in Herby Meat Balls, which have a massive 70% meat content.

Lamb is the star for Moroccan Meat Balls. Redolent of North African cuisine, the lamb is flavoured with garlic, onion, ground cumin, ground coriander, chilli, salt, fresh coriander and fresh mint.

The recipe is completed by the inclusion of pieces of diced apricot and diced figs, making the balls a perfect partner for couscous and traditional British meal accompaniments.

"Both add a new dimension to the meat balls sector and the Moroccan version is Moorish as well as more-ish," said sales director Roy Anderson.

Available in sizes from 10 to 56g, they are in four-kilo packs.

Prices, ex. wholesaler are expected to be around £4 per kilo (Herby) and £5 for Moroccan.
