The European Safety Bureau update

14th December 2010, 4:50pm

Independent food safety and health & safety consultancy, The European Safety Bureau, has had a very healthy 2010. We take a look at how the company has gone from strength to strength and what the future holds for 2011.

During this year the company has teamed up with high profile companies such as Mayfair Catering, BSkyB, The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn,  Little Chef,  Portico,  Sodexo,  Esporta Health Clubs, Firoka Heythrop Park and Mayfair Catering.

Chief executive Derek Gardner is delighted with the wins: These client gains mark the concerted expansion of our Hotel & Leisure division as well as our flexibility in providing health & safety services to a wide range of sectors, including office and professional services.

"We are also delighted to have renewed our contract with BaxterStorey which has been in place since 2002, firmly securing our position as the UK's leading consultancy to the contract catering industry."

In addition to all of this, the Bureau launched two new courses this year - Allergen Awareness and Sous Vide – as well as an innovative Mobilisation Support Service, specially designed to address the compliance and operational issues faced by businesses setting up a new catering operation at a new site.

And for the past 18 months, all clients have had the opportunity to benefit from The Bureau's RELAY service: an online support intranet, tailor-made for each client, which serves as a technical advice, training and information resource.

As if all of this weren't enough, this year The Bureau appointed three new consultants, each one of them a fully qualified environmental health practitioner, and has also created the new role of operations manager based at its head office in Leicester.

Gardner added:  "2010 has been a tremendously exciting year, but rest assured that our primary focus remains the quality of service we provide to all our clients, both old and new. We are thrilled with the positive feedback we receive from them, but we are continually looking at ways to serve them better - so watch this space!

"We are so keen to keep everyone up-to-date with news from The Bureau that we can now be found on Twitter, Facebook and Linked In as well as on our website www.esb.eu.com and earlier this year we were delighted to present at CIEH's 'Best of the Best' Conference.  We look forward to even better things in 2011!"
