The Grill Room, which dubs itself "the home of Britain's best steak and chips" has scooped a EatScotland Silver award for the third year in a row after being recognised for its opulent surroundings, relaxed ambience and excellent food.
Situated at an elevated level above Glasgow's Royal Exchange Square, The Grill Room's food was put through a taste test by Visit Scotland who described "every mouthful (of food) a pleasure."
The Grill Room employs head chef, David Friel, who is described as using only the most seasonal of ingredients and specialising in freshly caught local seafood and the best certified Scottish beef.
In addition to the accolade, The Grill Room has also welcomed a new restaurant manager, James Anderson, to its team. He joins with five years of experience "at the highest level" at Cameron House.
And finally for the eaterie, which is set within "glamorous private members club 29" is the launch of a new online booking system which is accessible now via the website www.grillroomglasgow.com.
Regional director for Visit Scotland, Liz Buchanan has expressed her delight at the Visit Scotland Silver award. She said: "We are delighted to award the Grill Room at the Square with an EatScotland Silver Award.
"The quality and consistency of eating and drinking experiences is extremely important in encouraging visitors to return. Therefore we are extremely pleased the Grill Room have now achieved this high standard three years running."
And Michael Robertson of The Grill Room has said: "It's been a great year so far with The Grill Room going from strength-to-strength.
"We're very exacting in our standards, so the fact that our efforts have been recognised by Eat Scotland for a third year running means a great deal to the whole team here.
"Welcoming James to The Grill Room also signals a fresh, new chapter for us. We've got exciting ambitions for the restaurant and his wealth of experience will help to bring them to life."
