In 2010, the event was attended by guests including Prince Harry and Zara Phillips, along with a host of British Olympians and sporting heroes.
Following the success of last year's Ball and the high demand for tickets, even more tables have been opened for this year's event and are selling quickly. Sir Tom Jones has been named as the headline act and exclusive auction prizes will be on offer to help raise essential funds for Team GB.
Aikens commented: "I feel privileged to have been asked to act as Executive Chef at the BT British Olympic Ball. I'm a big supporter of Team GB and am relishing the opportunity to design a menu for some of Britain's greatest sporting talent on such a prestigious occasion."
British Olympic Association chief executive officer Andy Hunt added: "We are all very excited that Tom Aikens will be bringing his culinary expertise to the Ball. He is undoubtedly one of the UK's most gifted chefs and we are looking forward to seeing what he will create on the night. To have such a great British talent supporting this Team GB event will certainly add a special flavour to the evening."
