Tony Hughes joins The Restaurant Group

Tony Hughes, formerly of Mitchells & Butler’s pub group, has been appointed as non-executive director of The Restaurant Group.

Mr Hughes, who will join the group with immediate effect, retired from his position as managing director of the Restaurant Division and stepped down from the main board of Mitchells & Butlers plc just 3 days ago.

Alan Jackson, chairman of the Restaurant Group plc, said: "Tony has a wealth of experience in the restaurant industry with a strong background of developing and growing branded restaurants. I am confident that he will be a valuable addition to the Board."

Prior to this experience, Hughes has also held senior management roles at B&Q, J.A Devenish and Whitread, where he was operations director of Beefeater and managing director of TGI Friday's.
