Two leading chefs have signed up to take part in a cycle ride from London to Paris this summer in aid of Hospitality Action.

Michelin starred chef Alan Murchison of BBC 2's The Great British Menu and Hayden Groves, Elior's executive chef at Lloyds of London are both keen cyclists and eager to 'ride' to the challenge. They will be joined on the challenge by Michael Cross, Hospitality Action board member and winner of the 2011 "HA's Hero's" award.

The charity hopes that the challenge will raise £20,000 for those in need. Participants will leave London on 29 June and will pass through the English countryside before crossing over the Channel. They will finally arrive in Paris on 1 July.

Murchison said: "Cycling this number of miles in three days requires months of training, dedication and commitment. To do this event for such a worthy cause as Hospitality Action will make all the hard work and effort worthwhile."

Groves added: "To ride 270 miles between two of the greatest cities in Europe is quite a challenge. However, to complete it in three days for such a worthy cause will be both a sporting achievement and a privilege. Our motto is 3 days, 2 wheels, 1 reason."

To take part, entrants can visit http://tinyurl.com/7ceq7xz. Each cyclist is being asked to raise a minimum of £1,000, with all proceeds going to Hospitality Action.
