The partnership will see the two founding companies set up fund raising activities that will raise money for charities chosen by employees of the two firms.
Kick starting the activities will be a charity walk of the Channel Islands taking place in October. The event will see managing director for Major International David Bryant, group executive for Crown Moran Hotels Stephen Scuffell and vice president - schools liaison, The Craft Guild of Chefs walk the equivalent of a marathon a day for four days.
The money raised from the walk will be distributed between five organisations: The Craft Guild of Chefs; The British Culinary Federation; The Federation of Chefs Scotland, paid into the benevolent funds for association members in times of hardship plus the Macmillan Nurses and The Pink Ladies in the Channel Islands.
Bryant said: "Major has donated thousands of pounds over the last 5 years, all of which has been donated to chef associations.
"So although we are not new to giving back to our industry, we decided to set up the Trust to provide a more formal structure to our charitable work.
"Over the next five years we have pledged to raise in excess of £100K and we are determined to hit the ground walking!"
