Warner Hotels & Haven Holidays join forces with Convert2Green

Bourne Leisure's Warner Hotels and Haven Holidays have joined forces with waste to energy company Convert2Green Ltd in a carbon reduction scheme.

Convert2Green collects the waste cooking oil from across all 13 Warner Hotels and 35 Haven Holiday Parks, before recycling it into high quality bio-fuels.

It is estimated that approximately one third of a million litres of waste oil will be recycled annually with the bio-fuel generated used to help provide low carbon energy for medical centres, hospitals and public buildings.

Based in Middlewich, Cheshire, Convert2Green collects and recycles waste vegetable oil from across the food industry to produce a range of high quality bio-fuels for use in commercial vehicle fleets and to drive heat and power systems.

A spokesperson for Bourne Leisure said: "As the UK's leading provider of family holidays we are very much aware of our corporate social responsibility and implementing a waste recycling initiative such as this enables us to go some way towards fulfilling it.

"Convert2Green operates a free, national waste oil collection service which is regular and reliable and saves us money on waste disposal costs.  The recycled oil is used locally, wherever possible, in a number of public sector buildings, and we are happy to know we play a key role in supporting the UK low carbon economy."

Convert2Green works in partnership with other key clients in the food and hospitality industry, including Nando's, Robinson Family Brewers, and Cygnet Foods, to reduce their carbon emissions and cut costs.
