Winner revealed for Aramark’s first Seafood Challenge

13th March 2008, 11:41am

Kevin Higgs, executive chef at a large IT firm in Swindon, has been crowned the winner of Aramark’s live Seafood Challenge, sponsored by M&J Seafood.

Six Aramark chefs battled it out at the Hotel & Catering Show in Bournemouth on Tuesday (11 March), where they prepared two seafood plates, a 'free choice' fish-based dish and a seafood finger buffet platter, all within a 60 minute time frame.

The winning chef fought off stiff competition from the other Aramark chefs: Michael Clare, Daniel Pinhorn, Dan Hall, Martin Rice, and Aidan Miller.

Higgs has been awarded with the accolade of Best Southern Seafood Challenge Chef and £250 of Dine Out vouchers supplied by M&J Seafood.

This competition was Aramark's very first Seafood Challenge held in conjunction with the launch of its new 'Southern Academy' at the Hotel & Catering Show in Bournemouth.
