abm Catering are celebrating a successful debut at this year’s Hotelympia in which the independent caterer won its first medals on the competition circuit.

In the Schools Catering Class, Ian Southwell, Executive Chef, won the Gold Medal for his winning dish of lemon and lime cheescake with stem ginger and ameretto and berry syrup.

Tony Hancock, Executive Development Chef for abm, led the British Team of Chefs as Team Manager competing in La Parade des Chefs, the show's 100-cover fine dining restaurant.

Under the watchful eye of the exhibition's visitors, each team had to cook a three-course meal from La Parade's glass-walled kitchen. Hancock and the British team secured a silver medal for their efforts.

Sue Johnson, Managing Director of ABM says "This is a fantastic result in our first ever entries to Hotelympia and a great opportunity to showcase our chefs talent on a national competition stage."
