apetito celebrates meals on wheels week

1st October 2008, 2:01pm

apetito is providing lunch for 200 people on Wednesday 8th October at Leicester racecourse in celebration of Meals on Wheels Week.

Organised by Leicestershire County Council, the occasion, aptly named "Passport to Health Event", celebrates the achievement of meals on wheels services in providing people with nutritionally balanced meals enabling them to live healthy lives in their own home for longer.

For the second year running, the Council is inviting members of the Midlands NACC and Council Dignitaries, corporate sponsors and around 100 customers to enjoy a two course meal provided and cooked by apetito.

The main course will be the popular classic, roast chicken breast with roast potatoes, peas and carrots with gravy or white wine sauce; to follow summer fruits cheesecake for dessert.

Charlotte Bell, Area Manager for Leicestershire, apetito comments: "These are two of our most popular dishes and we are pleased to demonstrate to those attending the lunch the quality of meals that we supply to our customers. They are a good example of what can be achieved working closely with the Council and our customers to ensure the elderly receive piping hot, nutritious meals which they can enjoy in their own homes."
