BaxterStorey will continue to supply catering to Barclays Bank

BaxterStorey has secured an extended contract with Barclays Bank, which sees the caterer continue to supply catering across all Barclays UK non-branch offices.

The five-year agreement requires BaxterStorey to cater for 24,000 members of staff at 18 locations through a combination of staff restaurants, coffee and deli bars.

It will also cater for Barclays' internal hospitality requirements and manage a vending service throughout the network.

BaxterStorey was originally appointed by Barclays in 2004 to provide the catering services in the then new build, One Churchill Place, head office. Throughout the years, it has worked alongside Barclays' chosen facilities management services operator, Johnson Controls and will report into Johnson Controls when its new contract term commences.

Wendy Cuthbert, head of corporate services, Barclays Bank, explained Barclays' decision to re-appoint BaxterStorey: "It is extremely important to us that our teams have access to nutritious, high quality, affordable food whilst they are at work. Over the last five or so years BaxterStorey has willingly adapted as our business has altered, translating their understanding of our operation into outstanding catering solutions which have always impressed.

"We conducted a rigorous tendering process for this latest exercise, during which it became abundantly clear that the operational standards BaxterStorey provides, and their ability to demonstrate best practice across our estate, continue to make them the perfect fit for our requirements."
