19th August 2009, 9:50am

A German beer garden is the highlight of a speciality market being held during Bolton's annual Food and Drink Festival.

The large market, featuring more than 30 European traders selling everything from food and drink to arts and crafts, will be in Victoria Square from August 28 to 30.

Stallholders include a Halal Moroccan food outlet, a Spanish paella house and French delicacies on offer. . A beer garden will play host to a Bavarian beer house selling specialist German brews and wines. Bavarian cheeses and pancakes will also be on sale.

Local producers will also sell food throughout the Square and along Oxford Street.

Celebrity chefs James Martin and the Hairy Bikers will entertain audiences with cooking demonstrations.

Councillor John Byrne, Bolton Council's executive member for development, said: "The market is one of the real highlights of this year's festival. Whether you're a serious foodie or someone who just appreciates good food and drink, I'm sure that people will enjoy soaking up the continental atmosphere. So come down over the Bank Holiday weekend, bring your friends, bring the family and have a great time."
There'll also be special offers in the town's restaurants, bars and pubs, during the festival and throughout September.
