Catering IT Specialist expands with new senior appointment

Independent catering software specialist Fretwell-Downing Hospitality (FDH) has made a new senior appointment to support the company’s growth.

The Sheffield-based company has appointed Phil Jones as Head of Operations with responsibility for all post-sales services and project delivery functions.

Phil re-joins Fretwell-Downing from the Tribal Group having previously worked for the group's FD-Learning Company until it was sold to Tribal eight years ago.

The company has embarked on an overseas sales drive and is on the verge of signing deals with several local authorities in Sweden for its nutritional analysis system, Saffron Nutrition, as the country looks to follow in the UK's footsteps for improving the nutrition of school meals.

Nick Prime, FDH's managing director said: "Phil joins us at an exciting time for the company as we are opening up new markets both overseas, and in the UK particularly as the restaurant trade is now turning to technical support as it strives to meet the growing calls for menu labelling.

"Our success to-date has relied not just on the quality of the products we develop, but also our after-sales service which is why Phil's experience will help us maintain the highest level of client support."
