The Great Yorkshire Show, Harrogate

8th – 10th July 2008, Great Yorkshire Showground

The Great Yorkshire Show, a premier UK countryside event, celebrates its 150th show this year.

The event brings together the best of British farming with an eclectic mix of country life, entertainment, shopping and competitions.

Last year saw more than 120,000 visitors come through the gates, and this celebratory year is expected to attract a record crowd to the 250 acre site.

Now in its third consecutive year, Channel 4's Taste of Birmingham will be celebrating the very best cuisine that the Midlands has to offer in the beautiful surroundings of Cannon Hill Park, from Thursday 10th July to Sunday 13th July 2008.

Celebrity chefs Anthony Worrall Thompson and Aldo Zilli will be preparing mouth-watering menus alongside a host of the region’s leading restaurants, including Itihaas, Opus and Simpsons.

British Cheese Awards 2008

Over860 cheeses from 75% of British cheesemakers are expected this year. A short list of medal winners will be published in August, but the final results will not be announced until the awards dinner in September

Cardiff International Food & Drink Festival

The Welsh Assembly Government supported three-day festival will feature a Food Piazza - a seated area with stalls serving tempting dishes; a Producers Fayre featuring over 50 food and drink companies; a Demonstration Area where children can learn more about cooking with local ingredients; and a Farmers' Market selling organic Welsh produce.

The Royal Welsh Show Food Hall
